We have already brought you an earlier nana post for cleaner kitchens and since we have received a lot of feedback, we thought we’d give you some help with bathroom cleaning tips as well! So lets get straight into it shall we?

How often do you clean your iron? Let me guess – never? Well, the easiest way to do it is to run the iron over a paper covered with regular table salt – but make sure the steam is off!

“If your bathroom just doesn’t smell right then maybe it’s best if you try and use this easy method…”

For bathroom stainless steel particles, just rub them with a cloth dabbed in olive oil. That will take stains (especially water blotches) away and will keep it shiny! OR for chrome bits, use the same technique, but with baby oil! This keeps you from buying different bathroom cleaning products for every material.

In a case of accidentally getting lipstick (or most other make-up products) on your clothes, use hairspray. Spray it on the spot and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes and dab with a cloth or sponge to remove the stain. To finish, machine wash the clothing. Note – only do this if the fabric is machine washable.

You know how sometimes linen get a weird smell to them when kept in a closed cabinet for too long? Just pop an open box of baking soda into the cabinet and that should absorb all moisture.

If your bathroom just doesn’t smell right then maybe it’s best if you try and use this easy method – mix together baking soda and freshly squeezed lemon juice – you can choose yourself how much you want to make it, but it has to have a thick paste consistency. Spread this paste virtually everywhere – the bottom of the toilet (where it meets the floor), toilet seat, maybe a bit inside as well.

Now let it be for about 15 minutes and once it has dried, spray some white vinegar on it and let it fizz. After it has pretty much stopped sizzling, clean it with a cloth or whatever else you feel comfortable with. Now the toilet should be bright white and the smell should be gone!

We have a lot more bathroom cleaning tips (and of course exterior house washing) tips so stay tuned! Nana advice posts will make regular appearances as well!

Regular Cleaning Habits – Bathroom Cleaning

One of grandma’s most common pieces of advice was simple: clean a little every day. Instead of waiting until the bathroom becomes heavily dirty, regular cleaning helps prevent buildup.

Wiping down the sink, faucet, and countertop daily can stop soap scum, toothpaste residue, and water spots from forming. This small habit makes deep bathroom cleaning much easier later on.

Consistency is the key to keeping your bathroom fresh and hygienic.

Maintain Proper Ventilation

Moisture is one of the biggest causes of bathroom mold and mildew. Grandma always recommended opening a window or running a fan after showers to reduce humidity.

Good ventilation makes bathroom cleaning easier because it prevents mold, mildew, and water stains from forming in the first place.

A dry bathroom stays cleaner for longer.

Extend Cleanliness Beyond the Bathroom

A well-maintained home goes beyond interior spaces. Dirt, mold, and grime can build up on the exterior of your property just like they do inside.

That’s where House Washing Experts comes in. While grandma’s bathroom cleaning tips keep your indoor spaces fresh, our professional team ensures the outside of your home stays just as clean.

From siding and driveways to roofs and gutters, professional exterior cleaning helps protect your home and maintain its curb appeal.
